Peru is one of the most fascinating South American countries which is often overlooked. It is home to one of the seven wonders of the world, Machu Picchu, and has a rich history of Incan and Spanish conquest.

Although one of the poorer South American countries, Peru is rich in culture. Their tradition, delicious cuisine, and hospitable people make Peru one of the most desirable destinations in Latin America.

The multiple layers of great civilizations are what make Peru so fascinating. You can visit the ancient Incan capital of Cuzco, explore the lost city of Machu Picchu, contemplate the enigma of the Nazca Lines, and roam around colonial cities which have preserved the lagacy of the Spanish conquistadors.

All of this exists in a country with some of the most spectacular and varied scenery in South America. The Peruvian Andes are arguably the most beautiful on the continent and the mountains are home to millions of highland Indians who still speak the ancient tongue of Quechua and maintain a traditional way of life. The lush Amazon Basin, which occupies half of Peru, is one of the world's top 10 biodiversity locations - a species-rich area of tropical rain forest. And the coastal deserts, with their huge rolling dunes, farmland oases and fishing villages, are underappreciated by travelers but offer the opportunity to experience more than just the typical tourist 'hot spots'.

Our international soccer tours offer a unique opportunity to see Peru as it is: a simple country, slower paced than our first world powers, with fascinating history, tradition, and attractions. Your club will have the opportunity to play competitive Peruvian soccer teams appropriate to your club's level of play.

FRIENDLY MATCHES

All of our matches, promoted by FARA, Fútbol Against Racism in the America, are pre-arranged with local youth, amateur, semi-professional, or professional Peruvian clubs. We promote each game with the message of cultural cohesion through our world's most common pastime, soccer. Our events give players of both countries the opportunity to share 90 minutes of physical and mental competition to establish mutual respect for each others' abilities and existence. Our anti-racist propoganda, billboards, magazine, and event agenda make each game, no matter how small or large, a remarkable experience for all of those present.

TRAINING FIELDS AND FACILITIES

Depending on your team's wants and needs, we offer a variety of qualities of facilities, ranging from professional level stadiums and grounds, to local fields. We do ensure, however, that all fields and facilities are in good condition and safe for use. Some of the many training facility options are shown below.

Many of our Peruvian facilities also have gyms, saunas, dorms, cafeterias, and game rooms, which are all very affordable and convenient for traveling teams.

TOURIST EXCURSIONS

Included in each teams' daily itineray are various sightseeing and tourist activities. We can arrange the tours for your team, or you can do it yourself. We have estblished contacts at many of Peru's main tourist attractions, so our rates may be comparable with those that you could find for yourself. You can opt whether to include certain tourist activities, or focus instead on soccer, or both! We are flexible and willing to organize your trip however you like.

AREQUIPA

On the skirts of the western range of the Andes, at the foot of the Misti volcano, rests the magical city of Arequipa. It is a beautiful city of mansions, temples and convents built out of 'sillar' - a material of solidified volcanic rock -, and distinguished by a unique architectural style. The city is surrounded by magical countryside giving it a refreshing, bucolic air.

CUZCO

At 3,360 meters above sea level, in the Huatanay valley of the southeastern Andes of Peru, visiting Cusco is an unforgettable experience, as it allows you to uncover some of the mysteries of the Incas, because Cusco was the center, the "navel" of the Andean world.

TRUJILLO

In Trujillo, spring is eternal. The sun always shines, filling even the most secluded corners of the capital of the department of La Libertad with light. This light brightens the spirit of an affable and cordial people, who live proud of their adobe citadels built by the Chimus and Mochicas; their stately mansions, heritage of colonial times and the beginnings of the Republic; and of the 'marinera', the national dance of Peru, a whirl of sensuality and gallantry from which love is born.

MACHU PICCHU

Mysteriously perched on a mountain shoulder 2300m up in the Andes, Machu Picchu remained hidden for four centuries until Hiram Bingham rediscovered it in 1911. Steep stairways lead to granite shrines fountains and flowers lining dwelling places of beautifully carved stone. Thought by some to be the last refuge of the Incas, Machu Picchu was more likely to be a ceremonial city where Inca lords and the Virgins of the Sun worshipped their gods and consulted the heavens. Its magestique and complex of temples, palaces and observatories withstanding 500 years of the Amazon jungle leave chilling impressions on its visitors.
